Moles
Moles are dark-grey/black with pink feet and snouts and measure up to 6 inches in length. On the scale of garden pests, these subterranean mammals are not dangerous, however their burrowing activity to create underground tunnels can cause significant mess in gardens and, in some case, structural damage.
Our ultra-sonic mole repeller is a great option to deter and discourage moles from entering your property, or remove moles in a humane way if they are already present. We also supply a range of scissor, claw and tunnel mole traps which are all spring-loaded and extremely effective pest control solutions when used properly (please see the instructions on the product pages for best practice) without requiring any baiting.
What are Moles?
Moles tunnel under the ground so you will very rarely see one above ground. They're efficient diggers, using their two front paws to push up dirt below the surface (resulting in a mole hill), and can create large burrow networks under ground by tunnelling up to 4 metres per hour (and up to 40 feet deep!). Needless to say, they're extremely unwelcome when trying to maintains lawns.
They like to live in dark, dry conditions, however they have a diet of grubs and love a good earthworm, which they hunt for in the damper conditions near the top of the soil and by doing so create the mounds of earth that is the most common sign of moles being present. Given their diet, they will be particularly attracted to areas with plenty of insects and worms.
They can cause considerable damage to gardens, golf courses and land by creating large clumps of soil (molehills) from where they've burrowed below the surface and, in some cases, they can cause ground to become unstable. They're digging is also destructive to roots of plants, inhibiting their growth.
How To Get Rid of Moles
Unwanted moles will only leave an area of land if their food source runs out. Given their food supply is insects, and there are very few natural predators of moles, a course of trapping and/or repelling may be necessary.
Our range of DIY pest control products include easy-to-use traps and repellent that can prevent and eliminate moles from damaging your outside space.
Ultrasonic Pest Repeller or Traps?
Repellers Our ultrasonic deterrent is a great way to drive away these unwanted pests humanely or it can be used as a preventative measure prior to moles entering your property. It is safe if pets frequent the target area. They emit sonic pulses / sound waves that moles don't like so they quickly disperse. As they're solar powered, they provide protection 24/7.
Traps Trapping for moles can also be very effective when done properly. Our traps are easy-to-use and can be placed directly in the tunnels, however always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the product label to ensure effective results and reduce the risk to non-target species such as pets.
